I Live In A Million Dollar Frat House
Hey how's it Goin. Thanks for everyone who emailed me back, I really appreciate it, I may not have responded because I have lots to do on p day but I always read them!
Starting off this week was way good, just found out mountain Dew kickstart are kosher (energy drinks are not) so I went out and bought 10 today, don't judge me.
I also found out the house I live in (rather the plot of land I'm on because the house is a wreck) is over 1 million dollars, so basically I'm rich I guess.
We did a lot of member visits this week, which is always fun because the members really like me, and they don't slam the door in my face when we try to talk about the gospel so that's super neat. Member visits are also very good because I get to practice teaching a lot more. I came out on my mission thinking I was really prepared, and I think a lot of people might agree, but holy moly was I wrong. I feel like a child compared to all the other missionaries, I know you're not supposed to compare yourself to other missionaries, but it's hard when you feel like you have no idea what you're saying. However, it all comes with practice so that's why I really like members.
Time for the spiritual sauce if you will in the middle of the email, I have been doing a lot better, I've found (although it's not my nature) that obedience is how you do it, I haven't really felt better about being out here than when I follow the rules, weird how that works right? Really though it still is a challenge, I've always been an advocate for breaking rules for the better, like going to get gas on a Sunday so we can knock more doors, which we didn't do, because I got roasted for that idea. I think I have now subconsciously made the decision to do my best to be the best missionary that I can possibly be, and that means following ALL the rules (no matter how stupid the rule is) because of this, I feel like I've become a lot more in tune with the big man upstairs.
That's all for my email, sorry they're so short, I'm honestly just lazy and don't feel like writing a lot, love you all bunches. Stay classy San Diego.
